Start here
- From your dashboard sidebar, click Account > Settings.
- In the custom domain section, start by typing your Domain (make sure you own it beforehand). We’ll use bonfires.xyz for this example.
- Click Add Domain.
- Next you’ll need to log into your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy) and update the DNS records with the information below. Please refer to the guides below for provider-specific step-by-step.
- Go back to your Bonfire dashboard and click Verify Connection.
- You’re all set.
Setting up a custom sub-domain:
- From your dashboard sidebar, click Account > Settings.
- In the custom domain section, type in your subdomain. For this example we will use test.charliecrown.xyz
- Click Add Domain.
- Next you’ll need to log into your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy) and update the DNS records with the information below. The main difference with adding a regular domain is in the process you’ll be adding a C NAME record as opposed to an A Record. Make sure you add you subdomain name to the name field.
- Give it a few minutes and go back to your Bonfire dashboard and click Verify Connection.
- All set, you’re ready to go!
*Continue to click Verify connection until the indicator in your domain turns green. Please be aware that this process usually take a few minutes but sometimes may take up to 24 hours.
